Transportation in Qinzhou

Qinzhou, is a coastal city, and a part of Beibu Gulf economic zone, with  great advantages in its geographic transportation. Its well-built transportation net makes travelling within two hours to Nanning and surrounding cities in the Beibu Gulf economic zone available. So far, the transportation net is formed by land transportation and water transportation, and in the future it will has its own airport. Though it doesn’t have an airport, it is close to Nanning with Nanning Wuyu International Airport, and Beihai with Beihai Fucheng Airport.

Land Transportation

Travelling within Qinzhou is mainly dependent on public bus, long-distance bus, and private car. In the downtown, counties, and towns, public bus is available for local people, and the ticket price is about 2 yuan. Without subway, the large volume of passenger transport is carried by public pubic bus and long-distance bus, thus the transportation of the two are complicated and busy. It has decades of lines for public transportation and its public buses shuttling in the city from over six o’clock in the morning to over nine o'clock in the evening, and time tables for some lines may be different. Departure interval of public bus is from ten minutes to thirty minutes. In term of long-distance bus, Qinzhou has  almost ten bus stations for long-distance bus in the downtown. Long-distance bus may bring passengers to every counties and towns, and it may bring passengers to other cities  like Fangchenggang, Beihai, and Nanning.

Highways and expessways are the main supporting facilities for long distance transportation. The nets of highways and expressways make travelling within Qinzhou and travelling within Guangxi fast and convenient. Passengers may come Qinzhou from Nanning through Liu-Qin expressway, which starts in Liujing, Nanning, to Qinzhou Port, with a length of about 139 kilometers, and a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. This expressway is not only for passenger transportation, but also for cargo transportation, because it ends in Qnzhou Port which is for marine transportation of bulk cargo. Qin-Chong expressway is from Qinzhou to Chongzuo with a length of abouit 130 kilometers and a desigh speed of 100 kilometers per hour. Gui-He expressway from Guizhou to Hepu, has a section in Qinzhou, and passengers from Beihai and Guizhou may come to Qinzhou through this expressway.

Qinzhou has two railway station, Qinzhou Railway Station and Qinzhoudong Railway Station. Qinzhou Railway Station is for cargo transportation, while Qinzhoudong Railway Station is for passenger transportation. Qinzhoudong Railway Station is a transportation junction of public bus, long distance bus, fast train and high speed train, and it is located in Yongfu east road, with a building area of about 8084 square meters. Taking trains in this railway station, passenger may go to every cities in Guangxi within several hours, and may go cities in other provinces, like Guangzhou, Kunming, and Guiyang. There are several transportation lines of public bus passing through this railway station and bring passengers to major places in Qinzhou. For instance, No.8 public bus is from Zhongshan Park to Qinzhoudong Railway Station, and No. 28 public bus is from Northern Bus Station to Qinzhoudong Railway Station.

Water Transportation

Qinzhou faces Beibu Gulf in the south, and it has a big port for marine transportation, Qinzhou Port. Qinzhou Port is a natural deepwater harbor, with  broad waters, small wind waves and little sand sediment and has the biggest cargo handling capacity among all ports in Guangxi. In 2008, it is granted as a bonded port, becoming the six bonded ports in the coastal area of China. It plans to build ten working areas, and two hundred deepwater berths for ships with a weight from 10,000 to 300,000 tons. It has eight berths for ships with a weight of over 300,000 tons in 2011.
