Entertainment in Qinzhou
To release pressure and enjoy a colorful life, people in Qinzhou has their own entertainment activities and entertainment venues which are usually in places with a big visitors flow. Those entertainment activities may be in morning, in afternoon or in evening.
Entertainment Activity
People may go to Sanniang Gulf to see spring tide. In June and July, tide level reaches the highest when tide rises, and a period of dense spring tide is from four to five days, and every spring tide would last for three to five hours. When tide rises, turbulent water travels fast and thumps on rocks, which is a spectacular and breathtaking scene.
People may go to pick litchis in a litchi orchard. Qinzhou is suitable for the growth of litchi, which has a big shape and a sweet taste. In Lingshan county, every village has litchi, and farmers plant a large area of litchi. It has a litchi tree with an age over 1,500 years, and has a great number of litchi trees with an age over 100 years. In an orchard, you may eat lots of fresh sweet litchis, and you may have a taste of litchi wine.
People may go to watch sacrificial dance. In ten days before or after the Mid-Autumn Day, the Zhuang and Han people have a traditional festival custom, Tiao Ling Tou, which is a sacrifice to ancestors. During the festival, there is a special activity for sacrifice, sacrificial dance. The sacrificial dance consists of two parts, dancing and singing, and the procedure is from setting an altar, inviting gods, to dancing and singing. In some villages, the performance may be added with martial arts, and conjuring. It has evolved into an entertainment activity.
People may play water sports, like dragon boat racing, yachting race, surfing, and swimming. People may have a walk in a park, like Zhongshan Park. People may go to a pub to have alcohol drinks, and have a dance. People may to a KTV venue to sing songs and play games. People may go to a library or a museum to study.
Entertainment Venue
Venues for cultural entertainment are museum and library. Qinzhou Museum is built in 1983, and it is in Sanxuantang, which is the former residence of Liu Yongfu, a national hero. The museum covers an area of 22,776 square meters, and has 119 rooms, and decorations like wall painting, and basso-relievo. The Museum of Pubei in Pubei county is built in 1965, and has about 800 pieces of historic and cultural relics, like copper drum, elephant fossil, copper plate, and copper bell. Lingshan Museum in Lingshan county, built in 1984, has more than eight hundred pieces of historic and cultural relics like bone fossil of animals, stone tools in the Neolithic Age, and bronze ware.
In Qinzhou, there are many pubs, some pubs are leisure-oriented, like European Town in Wanguo restaurant, Qinzhou Gulf Road. Some are performance-oriented, and there are singing performance given by professionals in those pubs.
Venues gathering entertainment and sports are like amusement park, and they are suitable for children and young energetic people. Changrong water world is a large water park, covers an area of 50 mu( about 33,000 square meters), and has eight popular programs, like vertical surfing. Fenghuang amusement park is a modern amusement park, covers an area of 120 mu(about 80,000square meters) and has dozens of recreation programs, like roller coaster, ferris wheel, and giant frisbee. In nights, those facilities for recreation are fabulous when lights are on.
Venues for leisure are like square, park, tea house, and café. Mengyuan Square is suitable for a leisure day, just having a slow walk and rest. The square has a large green area, and consists of several parts, like a man-made lake, a bamboo garden and a winding bridge. Zhongshan park located in Yima Road, is built in 1923 and has several parts, like amusement park for children, animal sightseeing zone, and water recreation zone. The part has facilities like lake, bridge, and pavilion.
