During your tour in Guilin, you shouldn't miss a sightseeing of Guilin scenery, and you may have some entertainment activities for leisure and fun to experience the charms of this city. Guilin people has many entertainment activities, and build rich facilities for entertainment. Modern facilities in Guilin are like KTV, theater, pub and disco club.
Guilin has a good reputation for its water and mountain, which are also its distinct feature. With a natural advantage in mountain, local people like to climb mountain, and they built steps leading to the top of mountains. You may climb mountain in scenic spots like Duxiufeng, Qixing Park, Elephant Trunk Hill and Moon Hill. In morning and nightfall, you may see old people climb mountain, and on weekends, you may see young people climb mountain in those tour spots. Guilin also have some erected mountains suitable for outdoor rock climbing. In order to have a rock climbing, people may go to a rock climbing base which provides coaches and professional equipment. In Yangshuo, there are dozens of outdoor rock climbing bases, and some of them are in scenic areas. If you are a fresher, you may have a try, and if you are experienced , then you shouldn’t miss it.
People also make use of numerous rivers in Guilin to conduct entertainment activities. On broad rivers with a slow water flow, people may row a bamboo raft and have a water gun fight, and they may have a camping and have a barbecue in the flat riverside. On rivers with a fast flowing in valleys or mountainous areas and with certain fall in terrain, people have a drift by rowing a canoe. When the canoe comes to the terrain fall and flows down with water, it gives a thrilling experience, which is pretty cool for a hot summer day. In a big river like Li River, people go boating or take a cruise, because it is a bit dangerous for a bamboo raft, and it is not advantageous for a canoe. In a summer nightfall, people would go swimming in a river to cool themselves.
Local people in morning would having a walk or have a running in a park, and the old people would play Taji or Wushu. In evenings, people may go shopping in shopping malls, watch a film in a theater, have a drink in a pub or have dances in a dancing club. On weekends, people may go to have a cup of coffee in a café house, and they may see performances in Guilin Grand Theater. They may go to Guilin Merryland Theme Park to have fun, and may watch shows of Impression of Sanjie Liu. Guilin Merryland Theme Park is an entertainment base popular among local people, which is located in Xing'an county and 63 kilometers away from Guilin downtown. It is divided into several entertainment zones, and has many entertainment facilities like merry-go-round, roller coaster, and water sliding. Impression of Sanjie Liu has water stages with Guilin scenery as the background, and shows stories about Sanjie Liu and customs of the Zhuang, and it is a gather of showing Guilin natural scenery and customs.
Except those, people would have many other entertainment activities in festivals. In Spring Festival, people would go to see local Spring Festival Gala, and take participate in celebration activities. In other festivals, like Sanyuesan Festival, people would have singing and dancing performances, opera performance, sports game, and some local activities. If you are having a travel in Guilin during those festivals, you may watch those entertainment activities and have an interaction with local people to experience their culture.
