Yuntian Cultural City
Yuntian Cultural City is an epitome of traditional culture and famous building style in China, and it uses buildings of simulation style to present ancient buildings, and uses works of stone carving, wood carving, and art casting to present Chinese culture and art. It occupies an area of about 46,000 square meters, and has a building area of 140,000 square meters. It is located in Jingbin road, Yuzhou district, Yulin, and Line 2, 4, 8, 16 public buses are available for you to go to this tour spot.
Yuntian Cultural City is composed of cultural buildings, statues, artistic works, lakes and trees, and has Chinese cultural elements like dragon, phoenix, tortoise, golden rooster and Buddha. In the central square, there is a column carved with dragons with a height of about 18 meters, a pair of dragon landscapes, a pair of kylins carved from granite with a height of 5.8 meters, and a pair of phoenixes with a height of 4.7 meters.
It is divided into three parts for sightseeing, Tiansheng Hall, exhibition hall, and classical garden. Tiansheng Hall is the main building in this cultural city, and it has 21 floors with a height of 78.5 meters. In the main building, there is a smaller building extending out, which has a height of about five floors. In this smaller building, there is a huge Buddha statue with a height of 30 meters and a weight of 660 tons, made by over one thousand copper sheets, praised as the biggest indoor Buddha statue in the world. Two lights with a height of 22 meters stand in the front of the Buddha, named Riyuedeng in Chinese. Ri deng is to light the world in daytime, and Yue deng is used in nighttime to bring lights to the dark world, and the two lights has a special meaning that Buddhism brings lights to the world forever and also brings wisdom and hope to people. In front of the main building, there is a huge golden gourd, which is a cultural and religious thing. A gourd is used to carry water, representing water sharing, life-saving, and a bless of safeness, and it is a special thing in Chinese Fengshui, used to protect houses. A bronze drum also stands in the front of the main building, and on the bronze drum stands a golden rooster with a height of over ten meters, which has a cultural meaning.
The exhibition halls consist of six halls with six themes, Jixian hall, wood carving, pottery, Taiwan culture, folk festival, and strange wood. In the Jixian Hall, there are plentiful exquisite carvings, which tell the stories of great people in China from the ancient to modern times. In the hall of strange wood, there are lots of rare wood, and magnificent art works. In the hall of Taiwan culture, it displays Taiwan history, traditional building, landscape and handcraft. The hall of folk festival exhibits things like music instruments , related with folk festival.
In the classical garden, there are elements of southern garden, like pavilion, corridor, pond, tree, artificial hill, bridge and stream, which form a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. It also have a goldfish pond and a lotus pond, and a special plant
