Golden Bay Mangrove Eco-tourist Region
Golden Bay Mangrove Eco-tourist Region is established in 2008, and it opens to the public in 2008. The region covers about 6,000 mu, and is composed of three parts, entrance area, mangrove sightseeing area and the Dan's custom park, a gathering of coastal wet landscape and fishing culture . In this attraction, there is a large forest of mangrove, which is a home to lots of creatures, like bird, fish, shrimp, shellfish, and crab, and it is a protective region for biodiversity. Mangroves are a plant cluster growing in shoals of subtropical and tropical areas, and they have lush and twisted roots and branches, which can resist wind and wave to protect coasts, thus they are called marine forest and praised as coast guardian. Except mangroves, there are also other plants like pine, shrub and casuarina equisetifolia, and its vegetation coverage rate is up to 90%.
Mangrove Sightseeing Area
Mangrove sightseeing area has a mangrove forest of several thousand mus. Golden Bay has flat land, sufficient sunlight and rainfall, suitable for the growing of mangrove. Mangrove is a special plant growing in the junction of inland and ocean, and it is a viviparous plant. Its mature seeds won't fall down, and they sprout and grow root, stem and leaves in the seed trees. When the seeds grow to saplings, they would fall down from seed trees, and grow in mud. Mangrove has a magical feature, and its leaves and root can filter salt water which would make plants dead.
The mangrove eco-tourist region has seven kinds of mangrove, aegiceras corniculatum, avicennia marina, kandelia candel, sonneratia caseolaris, acrostichum aureum, bruguiear gymnorrhiza, and rhizophoraceae, and China has thirty-seven species of mangrove. This mangrove forest is a paradise to birds, among those various birds, egret is the bird with a biggest number. For tourists' sightseeing, there is a winding wooden road supporting on the wet land and wooden pavilions for tourists' rest.
The Dan's Custom Park
The Dan's Custom Park is located in the northeast of this attraction, and consists of two parts, custom park and ganhai area, and it has activities like performances of the Dan's custom, tourist leisure and ganhai. Gan hai is a local saying about hunting fish and catching crabs. In the custom park, there are exhibitions about the Dan's farming and fishing tools, and culture, and performances about the Dan's custom.
The ganhai area has an attractive beach in golden color, and it looks like a golden ribbon. The plain beach has fine sands, and extends over twenty miles. In here, when the tide rises, you can take a boat and shuttle in the mangrove forest and use fishing net and cage to hunt fish and crabs, when the tide falls, you can dig sea snail, sandworm and catch crabs. Local fishermen use fishing nets to enclose a certain water area when the tide rises, fish would swim into the net along with water, but they can't get out when the ride falls. Tourists may use sting bag to hunt fish, which is a popular activity for tourists to experience fish-hunting.

Golden Bay Mangrove Eco-tourist Region is located in Haijing road, Yinhai district. For transportation to this attraction, you may take a taxi, take a sightseeing bus, and you may take public bus. No. 18 public bus has a terminal stop in this attraction, and it is from the aquatic market to here. If you are in Beihai Railway Station, you may take No. 16 public bus, and transfer at Beihai Garden Expo Park to No. 18 public bus.
