Lufengshan Scenic Area
Lufengshan Scenic Area is Xingye county, Yulin, 18 kilometers away from Xingye downtown, and it covers an area of about 2.7 square kilometers, and has two main parts, Longquan cave and Mount Lufeng, and consists of several attractions, like mountain scenery, cave scenery, and lake scenery.
This tour spot not only has natural mountain scenery, magic cave scenery, and field scenery, but also has historic and culture sites and cultural performances. Longquan cave in the middle of Mount Lufeng, is a karst cave formed in geological change, which is called the heart of the Earth. The cave is cool in summer and warm in winter, and has an average annual temperature of about 20℃～22℃. The tour course in this cave is 1,268 meters long and its tour time is about one hour. This cave is a huge art palace, and has two stories. The upper one has dry cave scenery, and the lower one has water cave scenery, which has a steam winding in the cave and it makes the cave pretty cool in summer. The stream has a length of over one thousand meters, and its water is clean, with a depth of about 0.5 meter, and its riverbed is all river stones. You may walk along the stream to experience the cave. In the cave, there are five halls for spectacular karst cave scenery, and each hall can accommodate several hundred people. In those halls, you can a great number of stalactites, and stalagmites in various and vivid shapes. Moreover, there are waterfalls in the cave, and the biggest one has a height of 24 meters and a width of 10 meters, which is gorgeous and makes a thunderous sound in the cave.
Lufengshan stone forest park has a limestone mountain with a length of 2,400 meters and a width of 600 meters, and the mountain is steep. In here, there is a historic site of troop station under the command of Li Zongren in 1920, and in the site, there is a performance stage for performances like local ethnic performance and stunt performance . Longquan lake is located in the valley, and has an area of about 15,000 square meters, and its water origin is springs under the lake. And there are several springs, Hehua/ lotus spring and Baihua/ white flower spring are the big ones.
Hualong Temple is in the mountainside, and it is removed to here in the end of the Ming Dynasty (1368 AD- 1644 AD), and the original one is built in the Tang Dynasty (618 AD- 907 AD). The temple has several buildings, and the Mahavira Hall or Daxiong Hall is the main building covering an area of 678 square meters. It has a red appearance, and is supported by 20 red wood columns, and its ridge has statues of two dragons. For visiting this temple, there is a stair of about five hundred steps from the foot of the mountain to the temple.
Lufengshan Scenic Area is about 60 kilometers away from Yulin, for your transportation to Lufengshan Scenic Area, you may take a bus from Yulin to Chenghuang town in Yulin Bus Station, then walk or take a taxi to the tour spot. Or you may take a tour bus from Yulin directly to here. The whole distance may take about one hour.
